It is a unique experience to have the author read to you, and with a voice like Obama’s, it feels good to be read to. There was so much I learned about American capitalism, the advantages, and shortcomings of their political system, social system, and economy. It was very insightful. I think Obama had a good vision; only the country was not ready for him. Michelle Obama, so much grace, so much wisdom, and yet so humble and down to earth. A woman with passion who shined despite her husband. I listened to the audio version of the book, and her narration was so good that at times I felt like I was in the same room with her, experiencing what she was talking about. Her closeness to her parents, her family, her husband, and her children is all remarkable. Continue reading

It is a field the continuously evolving and so complex, that it makes sense that you cannot talk about the contribution of just one person, without mentioning the others. Continue reading

Born a Crime - Stories from a South African Childhood

Comedy is a tough job. You have to get your message across and make people laugh at the same time. The way you deliver it is important. If you can make people think, highlight the ridiculousness of it all and leave them with an afterthought, you’re doing comedy right. Trevor Noah is a great storyteller and a brilliant comedian. What he and his mother went through is unimaginable. From facing the cruelty of apartheid to defying a system that was designed to break them, their story is a testament to strength and how to overcome hardship. Continue reading
