The Molecule of More - How a Single Chemical in Your Brain Drives Love, Sex, and Creativity--and Will Determine the Fate of the Human Race
There is a lot of information in this book and a lot to process. The gist of it is that dopamine is the molecule that drives our decisions and action, and that many times we have little control over it. I liked how the author uses many real life examples from everyday life and politics.
The book helps with self-introspection, encouraging you to analyze where your dissatisfaction or unhappiness stems from, and whether you can do something about it. Why addiction cannot be overcome purely with willpower, and the importance of community and support groups, was very interesting to read about.
Dopamine drives human ambition, creativity, addiction, and obsession This is not all bad. It is what makes us and what got us to where we are. But it is worth recognizing when to pull the brakes and knowing when we are no longer in control.
Definitely worth reading!
P.S: I did the audio version of the book
